The year 2011 witnessed the unofficial resurrection of a trait named “Fearless Leadership”. It saw Team Anna lead a billion Indians into the war against corruption. It admired the courageous imprisonment of a few bigwigs by the CBI. It stood in shock as Julian Assange exposed a myriad of Government secrets through Wikileaks. It heard Barack Hussein Obama, the president of the United States of America, announce the demolition of a few negative elements. The year 2011 also doled out a number of challenges such as the “March 11 Tsunami” that devastated Japan, the civil unrest that enveloped London and the world population increase to 7 billion. Lastly, the year 2011 created a void with the loss of some of the influential leaders of the 21st century such as Steve Jobs, and Dennis Ritchie.
The point is, we need fearless leaders to embrace the challenges of this century. Leaders evolve when a trigger initiates a lifelong churning within them. The shy indian barrister had to be thrown onto a railway platform in south Africa for a Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi to evolve into a Mahatma Gandhi. The loving Roman Catholic nun of Albania had to painfully witness a death in front of her eyes in calcutta for a Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu to evolve into a Mother Teresa. We need a platform to initiate this “ocean of churning” within to cause a mental re-arrangement of the belief system in today’s young engineering and business graduates. We need a start. We need a Leadership Summit.
In this setting, we present the second edition of Sri Shakthi India Leadership Summit on March 3rd 2012. The first edition played host to 19 influential speakers and 350 student delegates from across the country. This time, we are getting bigger and better with High impact sessions with speakers from diverse walks of life, Elite participants from the leading engineering and business schools in the country, a one of kind Startup and Product showcase for graduates with the appraisal of venture capitalists and an Extraordinary Platform for the fusion of brilliant ideas. Let the world see the birth of tomorrow’s leaders.
